Faith gives us the courage to tackle the seemingly
impossible, as well as the determination to see it through.

      Good evening everyone,
Did you have a terrific Thursday?  I did, as much as much as is possible, while experiencing a roller coaster of a day.  It had severe dips, making me feel queasy, while working through
important deadlines.
Today's ride had me go through a Chamber of Horrors, while tending tasks that had me revisiting negative feelings from my past.  As my work day coasted to a stop, I was relieved to have weathered the ordeal---just barely.
My Gratitudes for Today:
"The great men and women of history are remembered, not because they never failed, but because they didn't let their failures stop them."
1. I'm thankful for God granting me the strength that allowed me to have perseverance.  I tackled difficult tasks. My emotions did not overrule what needed doing.
2. I'm glad I was gentle towards myself.  I allowed myself to get through assignments at a reasonable pace.
3. I'm glad I turned in what I needed to submit today. Ya ay!
"Courage faces fear and thereby masters it."
4.  I'm thankful for a relationship with God, skills and tools that allow me to succeed during moments that at one time would have overwhelmed me. Faith moves mountains and leveled the hills of emotionally unpleasant tasks.
5.  It's good knowing I'm not a helpless, hopeless victim.  I've choices.  Doing what was necessary to provide serenity for me, during an intense, unpleasant moment, was my first priority.
"Acting like a victim is a choice, not a destiny."  Hope for Today, p. 189
6. I met with a friend after my ordeal at work today.
We took a look at some amazing classic cars, something I haven't done in awhile. It was a very concrete experience---something I deeply needed.  My nature is to be abstract. It was a respite I needed from the tensions I endured earlier in the day.
We then grabbed something to eat. I had hamburgers to die for, along with the best fries I've ever had a restaurant. Wow. I'll certainly will need to ride off the calories tomorrow.  Cycling for an hour and a half should do it.
7. I'm glad I took a stand yesterday.   I prefer visiting blogs that uphold decency and demonstrate sensitivity towards its readers.
Sure, we can justify publishing foul words. I know they are popular in today's music.  My question is, would you want your child, be s/he young or an adult, to read words unfit to speak?  I think not.  Or, have we become calloused towards obscenities, even though we claim to follow Christ?
8. I'm going to the movies with friends tomorrow----another ya ay!
I get to see any first-run movie for free. Those who go with me get in for free, too.   Along with big bags of popcorn and free soda.  I will take three others with me.
What makes the time a bit strange is that it is the same company that suffered from the fate of 12 people murdered and 58 wounded within its walls.  I'm going to the Century 25 Theater in Union City.
9. Tomorrow, having exercised my perseverance muscles, today, I will, with God's strength, tackle another mountain.
I need to make amends to someone I let down. This is not an apology. An apology is just words.  My amends involves taking action, remedying what I've done wrong.
I can't wait to correct the situation.  When I make things right, I do it for my sake.  It prevents mountains of guilt from piling upon my conscience.
I'm thankful for the opportunity to exercise my integrity this Friday.
How About You?
1. What has been your roller coaster experience, this week?
2. How have you been gentle towards yourself this week, while going through stress?
3. What are you fearless to take a stand for?
4. What are your plans for Friday?

The power of three…I hope you had a fun time with your friends at the movies Pablo. What did you see?

I had a miraculous wek. Battling inner demons. Good vs. evil and good won that round!

Everything is going to be ok.

Dear Vanessa,

I don't quite get it. Could you explain what you mean by the power of three? You have my curiosity.

I'd love to hear more about your amazing, miraculous week.

I saw the new Batman film. I say a few words about it in the post that follows. It was good. I find films are a barometer of the values swirling around in today's society. Watching it was a great way of escaping for a few hours and hanging out with others.

How are you? I relate with your situation. I battled demons this week, too. I talked about it in the previous two posts. I'd love hearing more about yours. How did, as you say, good defeat evil this week?

Wishing you a terrific Saturday!

Dear Anonymous,

I apologize for not replying sooner. I found your comment in my spam folder. I don't think you are spam. Do you live in a tin can? :)

Hope to see you again. And if you don't mind, please let me know your name. That way, I can greet you appropriately. I hope you have a great Sunday!

I've recently stood up to someone at work, and for a long time I havn't been able to stand up for what I feel is right. He just thinks he can do whatever he wants and say whatever he wants, which for awhile I didn't even mind, but because he works with me and I have to be around him, it bothers me to just sit there and take it. So recently I stood up to him and told him that telling me what to do just to please his agenda isn't going to work anymore, and that it's my life and I can do what I want, regardless of his approval, because the world doesn't revolve around him. So now I feel better about myself and feel that whenever a situation like this comes up, and I don't feel right about just being silent, that I'll come forth and say what needs to be said; therefore I can live on with my life and not have to hold a grudge and worry about it.
