A mindset is a set of beliefs or way of thinking that determines our behavior and outlook. Consider the anecdote about the two shoe salesmen who went to Africa. The first wrote the home office saying, "Nobody wears shoes here," and turned in his resignation. The second was thrilled with the potential, and wrote, "Everybody here needs shoes!" The first fellow's mindset was negative, which caused him to resign, whereas the other had a positive mindset. The positive mindset brought faith. What one man considered an impossible situation, the other saw as endless possibilities. Clearly, our mindsets affect our outlook, and most importantly, our behavior. I know that Thanksgiving is an American holiday but I would really love to hear what thanks you have, regardless of where you live. If you've NEVER chimed in with yours, now's the perfect time to do so, today and tomorrow. We've had 600 visitors today. I'm confident that among you, there are many gratitudes that you can share with us. Would it be possible for you to give it a try? Thanks!
I like a quote I've posted elsewhere:
All happy people are grateful. Ungrateful people cannot
be happy. We tend to think that being unhappy leads
people to complain, but it is truer to say that complaining
leads people to becoming unhappy.
There is much less envy of the rich by the poor than there
is of the happy by the unhappy; of those who believe by
those who don't believe.
And,
"Abundance is not in how much we have but in how much we enjoy."
A special welcome to our first time visitors from Mexico. Thank you, for dropping by and already reading fifteen posts today. Today, the country of Lithuania is new to this inn, also. Greetings! I hope the visitors from both countries find the encouragement you seek.
Russia, though new to the inn, has dropped by numerous times this month. Glad to have you around. Poking around this inn, reading multiple times is especially true for those who hail from the U.S., Spain (which almost matches the American readership), England, Pakistan, India,Greece and Australia.
We passed 37,000 guests Monday afternoon and this afternoon we have gone beyond 38,100. Can you imagine how many beds I'm making?
Seriously, I work behind the scenes here. I'm thrilled I worked out many of the kinks in the Attitude of Gratitude Inndex, mainly the portion that lists the different posts alphabetically. There were formatting problems and other thorny areas that have been weeded out. Ya ay!
I'm busy, preparing for tomorrow's big day with family. I'll post my gratitudes later today.
