A Christmas Musical Treat 12/25/13

       Back to Christmas. I leave this with you as a treat for this special holiday.  Please click on the image above and take in the passionate performance of
"O Come Emmanuel"
May God bless you on this Christmas Day.

"O Come, Emmanuel "
O come, O come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear.
Refrain:
Rejoice! Rejoice!
Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Wisdom from on high,
Who orderest all things mightily;
To us the path of knowledge show,
And teach us in her ways to go.
[Refrain]
O come, Thou Rod of Jesse,
Free thine own from Satan's tyranny;
From depths of hell Thy people save,
And give them victory over the grave.
[Refrain]
O come, Thou Day-spring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death's dark shadows put to flight.
[Refrain]
O come, Thou Key of David, come,
And open wide our heavenly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high,
And close the path to misery.

[Refrain]
O come, O come, great Lord of might,
Who to Thy tribes on Sinai's height
In ancient times once gave the law
In cloud and majesty and awe.
[Refrain]
O come, Thou Root of Jesse's tree,
An ensign of Thy people be;
Before Thee rulers silent fall;
All peoples on Thy mercy call.
[Refrain]
O come, Desire of nations, bind
In one the hearts of all mankind;
Bid Thou our sad divisions cease,
And be Thyself our King of Peace

Dear Innkeeper,

On this Thursday night, I am grateful...

1. To be reminded that I can choose to turn any encounter, challenge or unexpected moment into learning, growing, stretching and honing virtues of personal flexibility, open-mindedness and patience. That it's for me to embrace (or not) these moments God places on my path in life.

2. To be in a safe and sacred space with friends tonight, sharing our hearts with laughter and tears on the topic of "Emotions."

3. To find small signs of grace, forgiveness and mini-blessings at nearly every turn of today's workday.

4. To lay out a step-by-step, accountability plan this evening, with my wife, for one of our "late-blooming" sons.

5. In the name of honoring my own boundaries, and for their own benefit, saying NO gently, but firmly to our two sons, despite their whines of discontent.

6. For the magically metaphysical music posted here of The Piano Guys, "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel."
