Good morning,
Yes, I'm up early. Monday's do that to me. The most demanding day, they were---until this week. Now, today will be
just as crazily busy, the result of a spurt in the number of clients I'm seeing. That's a good thing.
Last night, I crashed, as in getting home and going to sleep straightaway, rising early this morn. However, I'd still like hearing what were your high and low points for the past week.
The video below is what having an Attitude of Gratitude is all about. We cannot become the person we want to be by remaining the way we are. Growth requires hardship. Success does not come easy. We make our own luck; the harder we work, the luckier we get.
Recently, I ended a mentoring relationship with someone who was enthralled with what I shared. I wasn't impressed. Being mentally stimulated is not good enough. I'm not interested being a Justin Timberlake for the mind; mentally entertaining, but not moving a person towards practical action. No siree (Bob). Characterological growth---transformation---requires elbow grease, labor, laying aside the character defects that get in our way as we run the race of life.
We get in life what we put in it. Let me know what you think about Zig's comments as he illustrates my point.

Here's wishing you a great and successful week! I know mine will be.

I feel full of energy this week, but not as much crazy energy as last week. I took on way too many tasks and it was not sustainable. The week I feel comfortable, not like Oh my gosh I have to do fifty things. It's nice :)
This is great!
makes the point that one ought to "get up to snuff" to prove oneself worthy of an earned reward or return on an investment of hard work! :)
Dear Innkeeper,
I enjoyed the Zig Ziglar video. You inspired me to dig up a few more Ziglar quotes...
"People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily."
"Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude."
"It was character that got us out of bed, commitment that moved us into action, and discipline that enabled us to follow through."
"You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want."
"Sometimes adversity is what you need to face in order to become successful."
And finally...
"If you learn from defeat, you haven't really lost."
On this cool, autumn, SF East Bay Area Tuesday evening, I am grateful...
1. My parents taught me to swim at an early age, so I can exercise body and refresh the soul. Important for a water-sign, born on an island!
2. My wife was guided to find our hillside home, with its purple fig tree, now ripe with fruit, in the backyard.
3. My mentor is now helping heal the heart and mind of a good friend, long-distance.
4. Our neighbor who just lost his wife of one year, and will now raise his two month old son alone, has the massive, loving support of his firefighter and police - first responder community, his family, friends, his faith community, and most importantly, his God.
5. That his two-month old baby boy is now, all the more so, his purpose, his reason, his calling and mission in life; to love, care for and raise.
Dear Vanessa,
Good for you, you're applying balance this week. Thank you for sharing what's alive within you. This place is better, when you drop by.
If you ever need to slow down, please cool your jets here. Thank you for visiting.
Dear David,
Great having you here. Our success is related to the effort we apply towards our tasks, I agree. Thanks for joining in on today's discussion. I'm glad you like the video.
Have you seen any connection between your recent efforts and the blessings you're experiencing?
Dear Carl,
Backatcha. These quotes by Ziglar inspire me. I will record and apply them as needed---which will be every day.
I bet it's embryonic, swimming. Do you find it as a form of meditation?
Have you cherished your wife lately, letting her know how you appreciate the way she's added to your life, like finding your home, in addition to all the other ways she's improved your life?
I'm sad hearing about the recent death of a neighbor. It sounds like she was young. Wow. I am holding this family with care, and am enveloping them with compassion and love.
