Weathering External and Internal Storms

  Good morning everyone,

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good. I've been wrestling with stress, storms, on several different fronts. It was good getting rest the last two days. It was the first
weekend I had off in a month.

I'll write more later. In the meantime, I'd like hearing from you. Would it be possible for you to check in and share what were your high and low points for last week? Normally, I ask on Friday or Saturday.
Your answers help me know you better.

My High Point:  I'm getting stronger, emotionally and characterologically. I've been through a maelstrom of demands and I'm weathering them.  Also, church was great. I love the worship music and the sermon preached. I'm thankful for the encouragement and fellowship I enjoyed while attending.
Low Point: I am still facing challenges that take much from my reserves. Fortunately, I have God. He helps me when I'm unable to help myself.

How About You?
What was your high and low points for last week?

More later,

Dear Innkeeper,

My weekly High Point was a lovely Sunday visit to my sister and her husband's beautifully Christmas-decorated, new home in the Sierra Nevada Foothill Gold Country; driving two-plus hours each way with three of four sons, in rare civility. This, and treated to a remarkable, homemade, bacon/ham quiche and fresh fruit luncheon.

My Low Point tonight is trying to cope with/process my #3 sons ongoing petulance (blowing overdue rent money, etc.), and related, ongoing communication challenges and debate on this issue with my wife.

My Gratitudes for Monday night are;

1. A too-long, but I guess much needed (5 hr) nap after work, in utter emotional and physical exhaustion.

2. A late-night flurry of frenetic-venting, therapeutic kitchen clean-up; putting away clean dishes, and cleaning the granite countertop (without paper towel - a psychic hurdle to get over, believe it or not!)

3. For retrospective humor...My wife was doing the same thing, only vacuuming - at 11PM! We each in our own way releasing frustrations.

4. To finally get notice out to my clients and colleagues of my pending knee surgery.

Dear Carl,

Were you touched during your trip because of the stimulation of new sights and sounds, and the celebration of life you shared with your family?

I'm sorry for your times with son number three. I pray that you'll be able to express and adhere to your boundaries as they relate to him.

It's great that you saw the humor in the late-night hamster activity, that you and your wife shared, after both of you were stressed out by your son. That is funny!

I appreciate your honesty and authenticity---you are a model for many who drop by this inn.

Blessings to you!
