Love is NOT blind; it has an extra spiritual eye which sees the good and possibilities that others cannot see. Image "Countryside: Canal Walk" by Tim Blessed, all rights reserved, copyrighted photo, used by permission. |
1. I'm thankful for health. Last year, at this time, I had pneumonia. Today, I enjoyed the weather and exercised. I appreciate
what a difference a year can make.
2. I'm grateful having tremendous friends who provide unconditional love and accept me for who I am.
3. I enjoyed walking today for over an hour (see previous post). I like celebrating life.
4. I had a heart-felt conversation with an older brother recently. Some confusing areas were cleared up. I was able to have the conversation stay on topic, even though he wanted to change the subject. Ultimately we sorted things out.
5. I'm thankful for freedom, the ability to make choices based on my values, rather than fear, anxiety, passivity or guilt. Free people make commitments because they feel it's the right thing to do, and they are wholehearted about it.
I'm glad I enjoy more freedom now than ever before. The trick is doing so while still honoring the values of others, and not being obnoxious.
It's a tight-wire act that requires constant practice and staying in the moment. Not being angered or rattled by the disturbing behavior of others allows me to enjoy serenity at all times, despite even negative circumstances.
