Hello everyone,
You guys are missed by the innkeeper. How you be? My computer is still down. It might have to be euthanized. I figure you'd rather have me post, than reply to comments.
Where do I start recounting what's transpired since my last post? I'm feeling pressured since the library has allotted me eight minutes to
write, using the computer before me.
My Gratitudes for Wednesday:
1. I'm speaking in San Jose, March 9th, on gender roles. The person booking me asked if I could talk on this subject. The occasion will help stretch my creativity, it will be a learning experience.
2. A rich time of fellowship was had Tuesday with someone that I didn't know, until our appointment. We were talking about working together. I met him at talk I gave in November.
3. Soon, in Alameda, at the Main Library, I'll speak on handling stress. That will be fun. Really. I enjoy interacting with the public. Talks allow me to synthesize research, organize my thoughts and share with others about subjects that intrigue me.
Seeing God At Work
A 19 year old homeless lady engaged me yesterday. She didn't look homeless, well dressed, she was. She heard me talking on the phone. She stood outside of a restaurant I was in.
She tried hitting me up for money, when I stepped out to make a call. She told me her story---she's living in a trailer, having been put out of her home, due to conflicts with her dad.
One thing led to another. Before our conversation was done, I asked if she wanted to pray. She did. We did. It was great.
Shortly afterwards, someone offered her a chunk of money. Another woman took her into the restaurant I was in, and bought her dinner. After having her meal, she came to my table and said, "everything turned my way, after we prayed."
How About You?
In what way have you seen God at work in your life, recently?

Dear Innkeeper,
Great to see your writing again!
I can see God teaching me patience in dealing with challenging people, slowly growing wisdom and discernment to "stop and think," ask myself "how important is it," and picking my battles, strategically.
On this relatively balmy Northern California winter Thursday evening, I am grateful for;
1. A sense of humor that helps me cope with daily ups and downs; highs and lows.
2. Getting 30 staples removed from my fast-healing, new knee joint incision.
3. Hosting a mid-day luncheon and catching up with two dear friends we have not seen in some time; a couple we have known and loved for years.
4. Sharing a delicious salmon dinner with my wife, three of our sons, their two friends, and clarifying needs, expectations and boundaries.
Dear Carl,
It's great to be back, albeit temporarily.
I see God is at work in you. Wow. Temperance is a great skill to develop. It will serve you in good stead.
It appears that your social nature has served you well, too. It's encouraging hearing about your relationships with others. Carl, I'm convinced they have been a source for your emotional fortitude.
Wishing continued mending, physically, spiritually and emotionally,
The Innkeeper
