For those who celebrate Easter, I hope you had a meaningful, rewarding holiday with friends and family. I hope you basked in the richness this special day offers. I started the morning with my Quiet Time. During this portion of the day I meditate, pray, practice silence and solitude while studying material that nourishes my spirit; I also journal. These spiritual disciplines armor me for
the demands of the day. You might want to see an earlier post, "Getting Through the Day" for other helpful spiritual disciplines. Sometimes I'll play music, using my guitar, and sing.
Welcome back, to the person visiting from Malaysia. It's always nice having you drop by. For today's Russian visitor, thank you for dropping by this inn of encouragement. Those of you who are new, I ask if you would please share at least one gratitude you have for today. If you wish, please do so in your language, if it isn't English. Those who've known this innkeeper for a-while, may I ask you to continue sharing at least three gratitudes? Thanks Cindy, for your example!
My gratitudes for the concluding part of this Easter Sunday:
1. I'm thankful for the service at church today. Hearing God's Word proclaimed lifts my spirit and equips me for the demands of this week.
2. I celebrate knowing a Savior who loves all and wants everyone to know the love of God and His power, benefits we reap, when we surrender our will to Him.
3. I'm grateful for Christ's resurrection. That's what Easter is all about as revealed in the following song, written by Bill and Gloria Gaither.
Because He Lives
God sent His son, they called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal, and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.
He came to love, heal, and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.
How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives.
But greater still the calm assurance,
This child can face uncertain days because He lives.

I'm thankful for my roommate who made a sizeable easter feast (though a bit untraditional) consisting of lasagna, salad, cookies, and champagne!
Eli,
Sounds like you have a wonderful roommate. Good to see you back. I'd go for that type of meal. How can you go wrong with lasagna? Other than the meal, what did you enjoy most about your weekend---what was your highpoint? (And your lowpoint?)
How did you find this place?
