Good morning everyone,
Yesterday---Wednesday---was a day I won't forget. I saw two clients and met with someone I mentor, along with getting together with friends in the evening. I'm reminded how rich, rewarding and reassuring life is when we life within a community of loving, caring,
discerning, supportive others.
After work, I studied at Starbucks. I've was boning up on the subject of trauma, enjoying the book Waking the Tiger, Healing Trauma by Peter Levine. Totally engrossed in my reading. For some reason, I was prompted to call my friend, Paul Simkins. (He's given me permission to use his name.)
In Florida, he lives. I confirmed information I received from him the day before. A young girl, a relative of his, has been missing for three weeks.
Geez.
I left my notebook, pens, markers and glasses on the table and stepped out on the corner of Central and Park St., where the cafe is located. For many passersby they could have thought I was hearing voices and talking to myself, since I was using a BlueTooth.
Talking to Paul, I discovered the young girl of 18 is his daughter! He talked. I listened. How he spoke as calmly as he did was beyond comprehension
A friend, John, accosted me while talking with Paul. I muted the phone. John asked me to call him after I finished the conversation. He went home.
I continued speaking with Paul, with us ending our time in prayer. I was mindful of a what Victor Hugo said about prayer:
To be continued in my next posting.......
Please pray for Paul Simkins, his wife Sherry and their missing daughter, Melissa.
My Gratitudes:
1. For good friends and the love I receive from them.
2. For gathering with my friends last night.
3. Last night I overcame a situation that was emotionally very difficult for me endure.
4. For following the prompting I got to call Paul. I'll make more sense in my next post.
5. For each of you who drop by.
6. For persevering when facing circumstances that could be overwhelming if I didn't breathe and stay in the moment.
7. For knowing Gods love, it comforts me and strengthens me.
I'd love hearing your gratitudes.

I'm glad about that fact because Paul and I had a good time lifting up his concerns to a heavenly Father who deeply cares for what he, his wife, his other children and family and loved ones are going through during this difficult season. We did so while I was on a street corner, communicating with my Floridian friend. I didn't have to close my eyes or get on my knees.Prayer is, no matter what position you body is in, that your soul is on its knees.
