A Look At Balanced Living.................. 8/20/18

Once again, staying in touch with you is my goal.

I'm doing that by submitting a collection of posters used in previous posts. Today's gallery focuses on balanced living.

      Boy, do we need it.

Peace of mind isn't in some stranger's power to say, it's in how we seize the time given to us.

Balanced living requires knowing and adhering to
priorities.  It is using boundaries to create the order needed to thrive. This is better than eeking out an existence.

Creating order in our lives requires making time for us.  When we step away from our normal routine and make time to satisfy our needs, we will be more productive.  Being rested and right-minded allows us to tackle today's demands effec-tively, with a better focus.

"What man should fear is not death.  What man should fear is never beginning to live."                Marcus Aurelius.

When was the last time you made time to nurture yourself? Are you getting enough sleep?  Are you making time to take naps?

Are you eating nutritiously?  How about exercise?  Are you enjoying emotional connection with your friends?  All these actions make serenity possible.

During stressful times, we want to be at our strongest.  We are the number one person on earth who can make our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being the crucial priority it is.

If we don't, no one else will.

When we do, our depres-sion lessens, if this dark emotional cloud does not disappear altogetherDe-pression, frustration, and anxiety are that silent knock-ing within that informs us we are not taking care of our needs.   Let me put it more simply: all negative feelings are a result of an unmet need.

We justify neglecting our-selves. But, is that best for us?  You know the answer.

     Balanced living is about perspective.

It is easy getting caught in the hamster wheel of society's expectations.  It's critical to stop what can be the mindless momentum of everyday living. We want to ask, "What  do I want, what are my dreams?"

Then we want to take the steps necessary for having the life we want and deserve.  This is being internally referented.  Yes, referented is a word.

See here for more on this subject.  Take your pick from the list provided in this link.  It is the antidote for depression, codependency, and passivity.  It helps us stand up to abuse.

Please enjoy today's gallery.  Wishing you a terrific week.
