Thanks Following Thanksgiving Day 11/28/20

Today's Gratitudes

1.  I spent time with a friend.  Today, we enjoyed the Califor-nia coast.  Our con-versation was authentic---there was no pretense.

     We were trans-parent with each

other.  There's a deep joy that sur-faces when connecting deeply with another.

2.  There was plenty of excitement during today's trip.  My friend had me feeling several g's of gravity as we raced along beautiful country roads, taking turns at a heart-pounding pace.

It's a good thing my heart is strong, after decades of running.

And even during normal times.
3.  The serenity I am enjoying, right now.  I ended a frustra-ting professional relationship. This person's desire to get better was less than my desire to help.

It is a minimal requirement I have with my work.  It is one of the warnings I give during the first session.  I love the satisfac-tion and the deep peace of mind I have when I am true to my values.

Being at peace with oneself is far greater than any riches or money others can offer.

Please enjoy tomorrow.  I know I will.

Dear Innkeeper,
Reading your post brought me so much peace, today. I agree that it is our choice
whether or not we enjoy our moments. We still have a choice to enjoy our days even
in the midst of dealing with negative energy.
More and more each day I am trusting a high power of my
own understanding. I know I always have his best interest at heart. He sees
my journey from afar and nudges me minute by minute, day by day, teaching me how to move forward, preparing me for a life he envisions.
I'm glad you had moments of joy and companionship
to recharge from a profession that is rewarding, but at times depleting.
Thank you for your stewardship to humanity, and may you have a blessed
first week of December. God bless you.
With kindness,
Mr. Clarke ;)

My new found purpose is to attain that peace of mind that you speak of. Thank you for your kindness.

Faster, faster until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death.

This is one instance that I find peace. It is the state of being so dedicated in the present moment that all I can think about making it through the part of the road I am on as fast as the car and I possibly can. Being true to myself will get me the same peace of mind.

Dear Mr. Clarke,

I am thrilled to see your post and that of Fish, also posted here, tonight that I want to reply, right away. (I dropped by to add another post, tonight. I will after sharing my gratitude for finding your comments here!)

I agree with you, we may not have control over our circumstances but we do have control over how we choose to respond to them. With recovery, we do not let our happenstances or others define us or determine our moods.

I enjoy hearing how your connection with the God of your understanding is evolving, all for the better. (:

You are spot on. My time with a friend yesterday helped me to recharge and decompress at the same time.

Wishing you a great December, too. And a terrific birthday mid-month.

Dear Fish,

Thank you, for your visit! I'm happy to see you here. I will remember the time we shared yesterday, along the Californian coast.

You are finding that serenity. You are working hard on your recovery and relationship with God. I know you would agree you are much happier than you were two years ago.

Your life will greatly improve. Remember, "Progress, not perfection." That slogan helps us to have more patience when we don't see immediately the result we want.

I am deeply grateful for your dedicated attention when you soar along the road in a sportscar, and I am with you, believe me. (:

Wishing you a fantastic week and the best December, ever.
