Instead, being thankful makes us happy. No more significant boost to life than being filled with gratitude. In prayer, simply saying "Thank you" of-ten expresses more than long-winded orations.
Now, Thanksgiving has passed. Most will speed towards Yuletide. What motivates the expense of gifts and spending time to shop? What prompts enduring the aggravation of frantic retail and online shopping?
It results from being bombarded by ads equating gift-giving with happiness. In truth, happiness requires little; it is related to our atti-tudes, our way of thinking, and not the purchasing goods.
What is the proper foundation for December's season of giving? It is far and away different from the focus of those seized by frenzied shop-ping that zeros in on December 25th.
Thank you for dropping by this positive place in cyberspace for the past eleven months. It boggles belief ten years have sped by since the doors to this inn opened.
Gratitude fills my life daily. Life has never been better, even though I face trauma daily because of my work. The healthy friendships forming my support network and the strong, loving relationship I have with the God of my understanding provides needed emotional resiliency. It is more than I dreamed possible, and His patience towards me offset diffi-culties encountered daily.
It is humbling, living under the shadow of His presence.
I enjoy being in this favorable position in life. It is not because of the quality of my character or what I've done, but because but what God did on my behalf. It humbles me, knowing His love.
To serve others, helping them transcend problems, and enjoy life is humbling and honor beyond belief.
